Telecom Strategy and Roadmap for Fortis TCI

Fortis TCI, a premier utility company that provides electricity throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands, has defined digitization, decentralization, and decarbonization as the main themes for the development of the company. Fortis TCI requested NTCS Energy to support the development of a future-proof, resilient, secure, and high-capacity communication infrastructure to facilitate the growing data traffic that supports emergency services and future smart grid operations including smart meters. During the project, collaboration between departments and external stakeholders was a critical success factor. A multi-disciplinary team of NTCS Energy consultants supported Fortis TCI in finding solutions for challenges by including the latest technological developments in their roadmap and facilitating discussions with, amongst others, the regulators, telecom operators, and technology vendors. The project concluded with the presentation to Fortis TCI’s leadership team including an executable roadmap that outlined all efforts required for Fortis TCI to realize its strategic goals.
